windows 7 - 64 bit, firefox 16.0.2 . FireFox menues not opening properly. If I rollover the menu, I can only get an outline of where the menu should be but it does not fill in menu items. I'm talking about the main menues like "File" "Edit" "View" "History" " Bookmarks" etc. It started a couple of days ago ( today is Nov 8 2012), I have uninstalled and reinstall 16.0.2 , no improvement.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
