How do I turn on the bookmarks tool bar?

My favorites/bookmarks toolbar fell off the map. I have tried to restore/enable yet no luck How did I lose it and how do I get it back I took your advice I hit view > bookmarks (already checked) nothing happens

Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and make sure "Bookmarks Toolbar" is checked.

If that doesn't work, it would be best to use the Reset Firefox feature, which will preserve your essential data like bookmarks and passwords. You have a suspicious site set as your new tab page and home page, suggesting adware (or possibly malware).
