Thunderbird updated yesterday now all my address book addresses are gone.

Thunderbird 24.4.0 did an update yesterday now all my addresses in my address book are gone. I think someone could make this support site a little bit more user friendly.

Gone how.

You click on the address book on the toolbar and when it opens there are no address books or friends? or something else.

Address book was empty, went out to my gmail account looked up some from sent folder and copied back into Thunderbird address book. The update emptied the addresses from the address book.
