My home page opens directly to my gmail account. The Firefox icon with the down-arrow is missing, however below that is the file, edit, view, history, bookmarks, tools, help tabs. How do I get a Firefox homepage with a tab to gmail instead of gmail as the homepage? Will that solve the problem?

Note that you only see the orange Firefox menu button when the Menu bar is hidden.

  • View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar if necessary)
  • Right-click empty toolbar area
  • Firefox menu button > Options

Hello,

Sometimes toolbars are missing because they are hidden, or changed (disable the menu bar = firefox button), you just need to bring them back up. Visit this article to learn how to bring them back: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars. You can learn tips and tricks at the same time.

When you have the classic menu bar displayed, the orange Firefox button is hidden, and vice versa. This article has the steps to switch back and forth: Display the Firefox button menu instead of the menu toolbar.

Incidentally, you can open multiple tabs at once as your home page if you like. That isn't needed to switch between menus, but if you think that might be helpful, check out this article: How to set the home page.
