find on page not working - nothing happens when typing

Have now moved to new laptop Dell with Windows 7 and have installed Firefox again - tried to restore setting but it didn't work so have restored my addons and setting and customisation. All appears to be working fine except that "find on page" doesn't appear to be working at all.

Well, you wouldn't believe it - I just pressed "Control" key and started typing and there it was. I looked all over the Support pages and forum but couldn't find a solution but this is now solved. Not sure how I show it as "solved". Will try anyway- thanks.
