Andrej, If you have renamed the profile folder using File Explorer then Firefox will need to be told where the new folder path is, or else it will be looking for the old folder name on the harddrive.

Possibly the easiest way to do this is the following, but note I do not use Sync so if you do then you may wish to wait for Sync-appropriate instructions as I do not know if any additional Sync-specific steps would be needed.

But if Sync isn't an issue:

• First make a backup copy of your profile folder on the harddrive.
• Enter "about:profiles" in the Firefox address bar and press enter.
• Press the "Create a New Profile" button.
• Follow the wizard, making sure to choose the renamed profile path on the harddrive as the location for this new profile.

You might also wish to set this newly created profile as the default profile.

You should now be able to launch this newly-created profile (which points to the recently renamed folder on your hard drive) and all the original add-ons and settings should be recognised.

There are buttons for launching profiles on the about:profiles page, and if you have set it as default then Firefox should use the new profile when it starts.

add-ons are still not recognized. More specifically, there are no pictures of them on the right up corner by the address bar. It is just blank, as picture representing add-on is missing.

Why would you want to rename the profile folder? You can't rename the profile folder because some files contain the full file path and extensions.json that stores extension data is one of them as you can see if you open this file in a Firefox tab and check the path key. You would have to edit this file.

Yes, full file path in files seem to be the problem. Anyway, I would like to rename the profile and the profile folder, so it will be more clear what belongs where. But seems I should better leave folder names as they are.

You can rename the profile in the Profile Manager to make them easier to recognize in the Profile Manager.

That is all good, but nowhere is mention how to rename the folders or if it can be done. Probably renaming folders is not to be done. So I will just satisfy with renaming a profile without renaming folders on the disk. Thank you all for suggestions.
