I have been locked ot of TBird (due to a lost Primary Password) for so long that most of the stored passwords are no longer relevant. I need to start over with a new copy of TBird on my PC - can anyone please give me detailed instructions?

Well, if Thunderbird is still installed, you might try this first: Choose Tools -> Developer Tools > Error Console, paste the expression:

openDialog("chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xul") and press the Evaluate button. That will open a dialog asking you if you want to reset your password. If Evaluate is not seen, press enter key.

That normally restores Thunderbird without passwords.
