Hmm, most search engines recognize a negation syntax, so you can add that to your query. For example:
Standard query results:
https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffsb&q=tapas+bar&ia=web
Site exclusion query results:
Add -site:yelp.com to your query and resubmit it:
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=tapas+bar+-site%3Ayelp.com&t=ffsb&ia=web
Now... it's a bit of a pain to keep editing all your queries, so you could consider one of these options for the PC side, I don't think either of these will work on your iPhone/iPad:
(A) Build yourself a custom version of the DuckDuckGo search plugin
This add-on can help with that. You really only need it until you've built, installed, and tested your new search engine plugin.
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/add-custom-search-engine/
The query string would be something like
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%s+-site%3Ayelp.com&t=ffsb&ia=web
Once you have the new DDG search plugin added, you can make it your default search engine. See: Change your default search settings in Firefox.
(B) Use an add-on to hide unwanted sites in your results regardless of how you searched
I maintain a user script for this. It requires an extension such as Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey to inject the script into search engine results page. You can read more about how it works here:
