Hi there,

for the past week, when loading any youtube page, the video plays immediately though often drops frames or freezes momentarily, but the thumbnails and links always take 22-23 seconds to load. Until the whole page has fully loaded the 'like' and 'expand' links etc do not function.

Clearing the cache has no effect. I do not want to uninstall/reinstall as every time that has been recommended for previous problems it's had no effect either.

I've seen others report this issue and your advise to them was to update to 59.0.2 and that would fix the issue, however, I had 59.0.2 installed when the issue started, and it may even since updating to 59.0.2 that I've had the problem. (FYI - This problem does not exist with my other browsers, and I have 55Mbit down, 3Mbit up).

thanks :) sarah

HI, I read Youtube was fooling around with the thumbnails to improve service but should not effect you as it has.

Since we have no information that could have been sent to Support on your Extensions and Video card Drivers Update your Video Card Drivers as errors can cause a wide variety of issues. Also please try : SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected

TEST''''is issue still there ?

If the issue is still there : REFRESH INSTRUCTIONS Please try a Refresh but Note that this does more than uninstalling and re-installing does. Normal uninstalling does not remove some preferences which may have become corrupt. Please Refresh but do this 1st: Delete your Cookies and Cache and TEST.

then

TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Or it is your Profile : Make a new one and test ...:

If is your Profile :

Note: Any customization will revert back to default, you will also need to reinstall Extensions.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
