How to setup Addressbooks so the list is only for the required list, NO addressbooks also listed?

more options

Have setup "Personal Address Book" so when needed to create for any reason an additional one. When going to 'write' a message with the list of addies on the left side, the only address book available is the "Personal" one that also shows the PRIVATE one setup by myself. Is there any way of setting this up so only the addies for my PRIVATE group is shown in the list available to send "BCC"? Cannot find any method to remove the listing of my subfolder in the list or being able to display only my PRIVATE mail list. When creating my mailing list the entries were placed only in my PRIVATE addy book.

Chosen solution

If 'Private' addy is a 'Mailing List' shown as a subgroup of 'Personal Address Book', then all email addresses are in the 'Personal Address Book'.

A Mailing List is a sub section of the 'Personal Address Book', it is not an address book in itself. That's why it is shown as part of the contents of the 'Personal Address Book' in the 'Contacts Sidebar'.

If you want to send an email to only all contacts in the 'Mailing List': In Write window select 'Personal address Book' select name of Mailing List eg: Private click on 'add to Bcc' button

Excuse me please?

An adjustment is needed to my first message, did not notice until after posting. I quote below with a minor adjustment:

"Have setup "Personal Address Book" so when needed to create for any reason an additional one. When going to 'write' a message with the list of addies on the left side, the only address book available is the "Personal Address Book" one that also shows the 'PRIVATE' one setup by myself. Is there any way of setting this up so only the addies for my PRIVATE group is shown in the list available to send "BCC" without the other address book shown? Cannot find any method to remove the listing of my subfolder in the list or being able to display only my PRIVATE mail list. When creating my mailing list the entries were placed only in my PRIVATE addy book."

Toad-Hall, Then what you are saying is if I just delete the "Private" list of addies as a subgroup of "Personal Address Book" all addies will remain in this last named book? Even though they were entered within the subfolder "Private" or do I need to transfer them to "Personal Address Book"? I do not want this listed as a subfolder. How then may I create another "Address Book" for other reasons?

I have three (3) email addies of my own and use them for different reasons needing different address books for different reasons. BUSINESS, Purchases, communications, ALERTS, et cetera

How would they be setup in your method of addressing, have attempted to create just a new "Address Book" without the subfolders but they all go to the same place. With all addies being listed and then there is a need to search out what is needed at that point and time. My previous email client, "Pegasus Mail" allowed such an operation, you do not.
