I don't want to have to read through a bunch of stuff to figure out how or what I need to do to access a web page. I am trying to access Jango to listen to music. I don't use a password for this. I just want to hear music and not be blocked.

What kind of security issues do you have with these web pages?

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Ghostery, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.

  • make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version

What happens if you click the Control Center 'i' icon?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

When I click on i, a popup says support.mozilla.org and says secure connection

How do I start in Safe Mode? What do you mean 3 bar menu button?

You need to click the Control Center 'i' icon when you are on a tab that gives a problem to see messages related to that website (jango).

You can use one of these to start Firefox in Safe Mode:

  • Windows: hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox
  • Mac: hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
  • Help -> Restart with Add-ons Disabled

The Control Center icon does give me information but not control. I just want to allow the locked site to be used. Is there a way to do that without jumping through a lot of hoops?

There should be an arrow that the top right of the doorhanger that opens when you click the Control Center 'i' icon. The panel that opens if you click this arrow has a "More Information" button that opens "Tools -> Page Info" where you can go to the Permissions tab to manage the permissions for the current tab.

under permissions, I checked allow but I still cannot use the site

Part of the problem is the Jango site. When I entered the artist and the arrow to play, nothing happens. When I entered the artist and a drop down menu appeared with the artist I wanted, I had to click on that artist for it to start playing.

everything is more complicated than it needs to be.

I did that, gave the site permission to run flash, but it still won't play the video, and I refresh the page, it still shows it locked, open doorhanger information, and it says I've not given it any special permissions BUT I HAVE!! So how do we deal with this? I liked the old way better, when it was a logo in the address bar, and when clicked it offered us to either open it this one time, or allow it open all the time. That worked, this doesn't
