Saved logins and master password destroyed by update to Firefox 53
I've tried - un-installing and re-installing in Windows 32 bits - installing a fresh Windows 64 bit version of firefox 53
To no avail. In both cases the master password is no longer recognised and there are no saved logins left via Option/Security. In the end, I had to restore Firefox 52.0.2 via a full backup (lucky I had one!).
It seems others have had the same problem but no usable suggestion has been offered so far. Is there anyone at Mozilla who can give us some help? This is a very serious issue as it makes all updates unusable until the problem is fixed!
Thanks for your help.

Do you see any error messages in the Browser Console related to the Password Manager?
You can try to set signon.debug to true on the about:config page via a double-click to see if that allows to see more info.
