I can get messages but when i send them im ask for my outgoing server (SMTP) password I have forgotten is and dont no were to go to install it even if i had it...Cheers

You can view and edit stored passwords here, via the main Menu:

Tools|Options|Security|Passwords->Saved Passwords

No menu? Push F10 or alt+t

Thanks tried that and now it comes up with the following..

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.bigpond.com timed out. Try again.

This is usually not a client (Thunderbird) problem, it is your server (bigpond) that is having an authentication problem. Try checking your security settings and your password on Thunderbird.
