Chosen solution

I keep getting a warning (encrypted login will not be accepted) and an invitation to me to change the settings for the outgoing mail. Where do I do that?

At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button > Options > Account Settings.

Scroll to the bottom in the left pane of the Account Settings window. Select 'Outgoing server (SMTP). Select your SMTP server. Edit the server settings as per your email provider instructions.

If in doubt check with your email provider about the correct settings. Trying to guess and use arbitrary combinations of port, connection security, and authentication type usually doesn't work.
