Why dont I have control over what FF Developer browser connects to?

more options

I want to use the developer edition browser but it will not even allow me to connect to https://addons.cdn.mozilla.net claiming the site is an unknown issuer. First of all I find it pathetic that the browser will not even connect to its own parent company website. I have went as far as disabling my AV software and turned off my firewall so I know it is not something on my end getting in the way. The second part that makes me mad is I have no control over this, there is no over ride feature that I can tell the browser it is OK to access this site. I can find no settings or parameters that will give me control. Why are these browsers taking the big brother act to such extremes and is there a work around that will give me back the admin rights to use the browser the way I see fit?

Another thing, I tried to sync my account with FF and when I try and login to sync it tries to tell me I have no internet connection. Something is seriously out of wack with this browser and it is very irritating!

Thanks philipp, apparently even shutting down ESET does not in effect disable all of it. I followed your instructions and it fixed the issue.
