I have had this issue for two months and I am becoming incredibly frustrated about it. Ok, I was using ebay uk and changed my e-mail address, the old one is now defunkt, however, when i attempt to buy something through ebay and go to their checkout it automatically enters in my old e-mail address, after 2 months of screaming with Paypal and Ebay both of them say that is a browser issue and nothing to do with them, I am not very technically minded and one day I highlighted the old e-mail address and the box came up 'inspect source' I found that if I scroll down it has highlighted my old e-mail address and if I double click it, I can them change it to my new address to carry on through the checkout. I have added a screenshot removing my personal info and also circled in red the offending email and where I change it. I only found out I could do this out of curiosity.

I am absolutely begging for any kind of help because again both Paypal and Ebay are 110% insistent it is not their issue and must be a browser related problem, clear chache, coookies etc, I have even deleted firefox and started again and am at a total loss what I must be missing? Please help!

Hi, try this: Delete all references to Ebay and Paypal, as shown under the heading 'How do I remove a single website from my history?' in this article - Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox, then try the sites again.

Also, if the site(s) are bookmarked, create new ones then delete the old ones.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

Hi, Yes I have done this repeatedly, I no longer have them as bookmarks, I have clicked on emtpy cache, remove cookies and history and also removed firefox and re-installed it, the issue still remains, I cannot understand what is keeping that old email address there.

Hi, make sure that you don't have any entries for those sites in the Password Manager: Password Manager - Remember, delete and edit logins and passwords in Firefox.

Also make sure automatic form filling isn't selected: Control whether Firefox automatically fills in forms.
