38.5.1 Thunderbird deleted emails/mailcollect broke

Have been loving Thunderbird until this latest release. After update, looked for particular emails and could not find in Trash, Junk, Spam or offline folders. Turned off all options concerning junk, spam, av scanner and there are no filters. Looking to see if any of these is doing something to that particular email.

Searched for mailcollect on support site. Doesn't have anything about it, which is odd. When was it removed? It has been working fine until this version. Went ahead and setup second account in account settings.

Also went back to 38.4 and turned off updates to see if things will get back to normal.

When I first installed Thunderbird over a year ago, it was the mechanism to add multiple emails to Thunderbird. I had my main account, then under Mailcollect, you can add other accounts. The main account had all of the folders, the Mailcollect accounts just had inbox but you could add other folders if you wanted. I was astounded that the support site had nothing about it. With this latest version you have to add accounts separately and they each have their own set of folders.
