I just updated to 31.7, unfortunately.

I always had a T'Bird Icon on the far left of my quick launch bar. Now, it creates a whole new icon and puts it far out to the right.

I kept clicking on my icon on the far left because I thought it wasn't launching. See attached.

Whose brilliant idea was this? Was the point of this change? Was a change even needed? NOOOOOOO!!!

It is the ONLY Window app that does this. Were you trying to start a trend?

Sheesh

Is there any way to undo this latest installation?

If that's true I would still be using DOS 1.0 and railway-programming in DOS-Basic and assembler. But really most updates of win-program has a tendency to put to much importance to their program and putting their shortcuts at the top of the list on desktop etc. Using same method of installing and cleaning up every time makes it less vulnerable, whether its fresh install, new icons, new program-folders, new init values or a plain update. NOT having to analyze and foresee actions for every possible user-quirk will make download/update faster.

You'r on windows quick launch? The old icon is deleted and a new added at the end of the line. Then move it. Just click on it and hold your left mousekey down while you move it to where you want it

Thank you for your quick response.

Perhaps I was unclear or you didn't look at my file I attached?

As you can see on the picture. I have a Quick Launch on the far left.

When I click on it, the latest and greatest T'Bird ADDS an icon to the far right and that is where it is 'active'.

It used to just have one icon "Active", the original Quick Launch on the far left.

Can you not see the picture? I have TWO separate Icons - my original on the far left the newly created one. When I close T'Bird, the one on the farrrrrrrr right goes away and I am left with my original Quicklaunch Icon on the far left.

I know how to drag and move Quick Launch Icons. I have many Icons on that quick launch. Pls look at my picture. That is why I attached it.

Thank you.

Sorry I took a to quick look at quick launch. Did'n see the second icon. I can only say that it doesn't act that way on my quick launch. So its NOT a new thing from TB. Its more like opening two explorer at the same time. But you know how to check those things so good luck.

And we are not the guys messing, we are users just like you.

Sorry....my apologies...I was angry yesterday and I took it out on you.

I wake up this morn and the original icon is now completely gone from my quick launch.

You think I'd learn after all these years that, if something is working well, DO NOT UPDATE....Murphy's Law # 4,245?

Thanks again for your reply.
