Chosen solution

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Try to redo the default browser setting and temporarily set another browser as the default browser.

Thanks, I did what you suggested, but no luck. Still not working. When I save any link as shortcut by dragging a bookmark from Firefox onto the desktop and then double click on those shortcuts, it will open Firefox with my homepage, and not open the site where the shortcut points. That goes with any Firefox bookmark shortcut I saved on my computer.

It was working fine before i downloaded Microsoft windows movie maker and some more stuff through Softonic homepage. Since then I uninstalled Softonic and Firefox and Firefox Maint. and reinstalled Firefox. Nothing helped so far.

What else can we do?

HELP !!!
