I created a master password to protect my user names and passwords from other users and from loss to "cleansing" scanner software. So far the master password protects from my SparkTrust scanning software but fails to protect my user names or passwords from your Mozilla Reset listed on your troubleshooting information page. In times past I never encountered this problem. Now it is a regular event that is quite frustrating. Your help in clearing this issue will be appreciated. Thank you, Cal Neff, CET edit: removed your mail address from public display, since the only thing it will attract are spam bots. you will be notified per mail once somebody replies to the thread. The warning I get when I restart Firefox are: Firefox will try to preserve: Windows and Tabs Browsing History and Bookmarks Saved Passwords Saved Form History Cookies...

What is also weird is that I only had one password and when I reset to try to reproduce this there were many more after I reset. I removed all of them, reset again and they were there again. So I think it may be pulling from another file?? There is also a step in the Reset Process that imports data, but the folder with the Old Firefox Data should still have your passwords. Check out the key8.db and logins.json file. Recovering important data from an old profile
