Downloaded update, exited FF and restarted but version still shows 50.1.0 instead of 51.0.1. Help please

I have downloaded repeatedly FF V 51.0.1 and yet after restarting FF, the help dropdown shows version 50.1.0. What do I need to do to update FF?
