Hello, I'm not sure what you mean by ''regular file'' - how did you backup your bookmarks? If you exported bookmarks by following [[Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks]], you should be able to [[Import Bookmarks from a HTML file]]. Note that bookmarks, browsing history and downloads are stored in the ''places.sqlite'' file. Please see [[Recovering important data from an old profile]] for more information if you copied your whole profile before clearing the hard drive.
