I have an email address that I used for my business but I've closed the business and want to use the address for personal use. Can I archive the whole of the inbox & subfolders so that I can access them if needed and start again with an empty inbox? If so where can I find step by step instructions to achieve this?

After posting a question here, I found the answer in one of your Help postings. So I deleted the question in this post (and changed the Subject), but was there a way I could have deleted the post itself?

Hello. As I see from other discussions topics, threaded folders are NOT popular. PLEASE can you offer an option, across the whole of Thunderbird, for NOT having emails threaded. Thuis INCLUDES, when using the Search features, where the reults appear as threaded, which is counter intuitive when searching for one particular message.

Hi, our company is using a program called Visma Administration 1000 as economy system. Since we have macbook computers we thus have a Microsoft Remote Desktop downloaded, since the economy system only works through Windows! Anyhow, we then use Thunderbird as a local e-mail which is connected to the economy system, and through which we can send our orders, invoices etc to our email. However, ever since a few weeks back a troubleshooting messege has occured making us unable to send the emails; referring to a problem with the outgoing SMTP server. However, after speaking with an IT Support guy who looked it thorugh he said that everything looked like it should. BUT I am wondering if it might have anything to do with the server/thunderbird being blocked by the program, which I don't know how to check... Does anyone know how to fix it?

The error message is in swedish but translates to: "The message could not be sent. The message could not be sent because the connection to the outgoing server (smtp01.binero.se) failed. The server may be unavailable or is denying connection to the outgoing server (SMTP). Please check that your outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again."

Witam, thunderbrid w dniu dzisiejszym zaczął bardzo wolno działać . próbowałem uruchomić aplikację kilkukrotnie ale bardzo wolne jest jej działania. bardzo długo aplikacja otwiera e-maile oraz pokazuje ikone braku odpowiedzi na laptopie korzystamy z ubuntu . problem jest od dzisiaj przedtem program działał prawidłowo expo@telvinet.pl szef@i-ogrod.pl proszę o pilną pomoc jak naprawić aplikację ponieważ nie możemy nic zrobić w firmie.

On the calendar, on the screen I have Week View At the top are "all day" events, following by events in chronological order. Everything looks fine.

Printing and print preview are radically different from screen. In one case the print started with appointments after noon and all-day events were listed below. Morning appointments were not listed at all. In another with no all-day events all the appointments were listed twice.

"Print Preview" is before printer selection so I suspect the problem is not the printer. I tried changing the printer and it made no difference.

Also the "Print Layout" for "weekly planner" has font size of perhaps 4 points. I don't see how to change that.

I have received an email from Microsoft informing me of changes to its authentification procedure. As from Sept, to continue using Thunderbird to access my outlook/hotmail accounts, I have to change the authentification method to Oauth2. The reasons and changes required are detailed here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/microsoft-oauth-authentication-and-thunderbird-202 I have 2 problems. 1. imap-mail.outlook.com - I can change my authentification method to Oauth2. However, when I then try to access my mail via TB, I get an error stating that the server imap-mail.outlook.com does not support the authentification method! (see image) 2. Outgoing Server SMTP There is no Oauth2 option available to choose!

Can anyone help? I am using the most up to date version of Thunderbird 115.12.2 (64-bit).

I have linked Thunderbird to my iCloud mail using Apple's straightforward app-specific password facility. Thunderbird recognises the basic folders (inbox etc...) and I can send / receive mails.

Thunderbird does not recognise the majority of iCloud's Mail Folder hierarchy so most of my mail 'history' going back 20 years is missing. It is still present if I view it on iCloud's web service.

Two random folders (each containing 30+ mails) are available through the Thunderbird client. The remaining 70-80 folders are not.

This is a very simple Thunderbird set up, single e-mail account, no messaging or anything else (no need, don't want).

I am running Thunderbird version 115.12.2. Since installing this version, the Windows key does not work when Thunderbird is running. If I exit Thunderbird, the windows key works again.

I've been using Thunderbird to access email services from Protonmail, after using Proton's Bridge programme to link Thunderbird to my Protonmail a/c. I updated to 115.11.1 (32-bit) and unified folders will not appear and the option will not stay checked. I have exhausted my options. I previously had 64-bit with same issue so I deleted and installed 32-bit as some said this would help the issue ( I'm on 64-bit windows 10 OS).

I have iinet.net.au as my email server. They changed to themessagingco.com.au. Initially there were no problems and I could receive messages and send then after June 3 I could do neither. I contacted iinet and themessagingco. for assistance. I spent heaps of time with themessagingco changing settings for incoming and out going mail but am still unable to send or receive on Thunderbird. Help required, as I want to continue using Thunderbird. I am able to receive and send through webmail for themessagingco but really want to use Thunderbird. In my TB 115.3.1 after having open 5-6 tabs, suddenly all tabs are vanished, exept the first one  ??? I angryly have to find the opened emails again... Is there a limit of open tabs ? Can it be altered ??? Thanks for a tip...

I have used Thunderbird and my mail server for twenty - thirty years with no problem. about two weeks ago Thunderbird came up with message failed to connect with mail server, connection timed out. This happened all the time. After a few days I deleted then re-installed Thunderbird, now when I try to set up new mail account it says cannot find settings for email account. I spoke to my mail server account help but they were not helpful, immediately saying it was a third party problem. Please help.

A couple of months ago I borked my thunderbird installation and ended up having to re-install and import my old emails. I ended up having to do it a few times before getting all of my old emails imported correctly. At least I thought I did. Not all but quite few emails are now showing blank Subject and Correspondent fields and the message body is displayed in HTML code. I tried the "repair folder" function and it has not effect.
