I can click on View, layout then either Classic, Vertical, or Wide view and nothing changes on my Email inbox. When I installed the update on my desktop the view stayed as it was since I installed the program which I think it was or prior to 115. Thunderbird has been updated to 128.1. When I installed 128.1 fresh install on my laptop it has a card style view and I can't change it no mater which view the check mark is on. Restarting Thunderbird after changing the check mark to different views had no affect. Maybe I am misunderstanding the terminologies.

Help! My main email address and another one no longer are listed when I open Thunderbird. I tried to reinstall my main email but was prompted that it already exists. I have not received any email since 7/23/2024. My main email is belaflom@belaflom.com.

Nyc.rr.com cannot send email I can receive email. Everything seems to be set correctly as you can see in the screenshot. Please help. This is a new pc that I am trying to setup. Thank You

How to created new mailing list. The online instructions, last updated 2015, say : "Create a mailing list

   Open the Address Book.
   Select File > New > Mailing List.
   Enter a suitable name for the mailing list. 

but "mailing list" does not appear when i select file> new

hey, After the last 2 updates, my quick filtering (ctrl+shift+K) broke. It works very slowly, it freezes the entire program. Is there any way to fix this? I work on Windows 10, regularly updated

My COX email was transferred to Yahoo a few months ago. I followed the procedure outlined by COX and changed over to Thunderbird as I had used before. Everything worked great until the morning of August 18. I cannot receive or send email. I have tried contacting Yahoo who will not help me unless I subscribe to their Premium Technology package. I would really like to talk with someone from Thunderbird but have not found any help. HELP I cannot receive or send email

I have set the retention policy on my Thunderbird account for 30 days both in the setting for the inbox and the All Mail inbox and I have used the same setting for my account however it only works on the inbox and I have 1745 message in the All Mail folder which intermittently deletes the older messages and then restores them.

Am I doing something wrong?

I have 10 email accounts in my Thunderbird 115.12.2 (64-bit) and I am using Microsoft Windows 10 Pro and all my sent, draft, archives and templates are going into a different folder. I want them to go into the folder from which the email was sent but they are all going into the email tinakeeling@att.net.

I have changed it to reflect the correct folder but then a few days later and every time I restart Thunderbird the program changes the folders back to tinakeeling@att.net

I have even unchecked the box "place a copy in" and when Thunderbird is restarted it reverts back.

What can I do to fix this issue?

I'm trying to install Thunderbird on my new PC as I can no longer use Outlook (thanks Microsoft). I use Spectrum for my email (rbaldwin2@woh.rr.com), and I'm not able to get Thunderbird to work. It seems that Thunderbird has set a checkmark for the new feature Attach VCF to the messages I send. But I think that programs should never change my settings without explicitly telling me. It is now unticked.

Thumderbird asked if it could compact folders. Said yes. Now all that shows is the title line for all emails in inbox, but NO content displayed.

Can still see content in emails that are in other folders, seems to be only inbox that will not show content of the emails

New emails arriving will show content as well as some old old emails in inbox

In attempting to address inbox message duplication in Thunderbird (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1453812#answer-1666737), I've been systematically deleting thousands of old emails from my inbox, followed by a folder compacting.

Now, many of the remaining messages are unreadable. Most appear to be blank /empty, while some appear as gibberish text. I've tried repairing the folder using the tool in Folder Properties. That may have made the problem worse.

Somehow I was running an unsupported ver 129 on a Win 10 system, not sure how. I was getting a warning messages at startup. I decided to install the latest supported ver 128. I did that over the ver I was running and did not save, export or rename anything. Just one install over the other. I have lost my calendar that I spent months building. Did I lose it? Any possibility it is still around hiding somewhere? Help please, but I am prepared for the worst for being hasty in my decision. Cheers, TR

Each time I open the program it starts downloading all emails from the beginning, it takes hours and days. Even when it's done it starts again from the beginning. I have used this program for many years, but this problem happened in the last few weeks, it's crazy slow
