Under the topic lost bookmarks when upgrading to 3.6 it is recommended to check for upgrades to the torbutton. When checking for upgrades I get message "An error occurred while trying to find updates for torbutton." Any ideas?

Your info says that you have version 1.2.5, and it appears that version 1.2.5 is the latest version anyway https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2275/

If you disable it or re-install Torbutton, does the problem go away?

It should be made more clearer in the Recover lost or missing Bookmarks article that if you do not have the Torbutton extension that you can skip that step and proceed with the next. I've seen more posts from users that get confused by that text. Some even think that you need to install that add-on to proceed.
