I'm no longer seeing a statement of total space saved in the compaction status bar messaging. If this has been lost in recent upgrades, please bring it back!

Any info on this? Anyone?

compaction was seriously broken in V102 when released. However I am not sure about the space freed. While it was always made a great deal about, it was really only a side issue to the reasons to compact.

As the space reported as recovered is not accurate anyway, I wonder if the decision was made to remove the information until it was. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1260698

Thanks for the reply, Matt. I'm not really needing the space saved estimate but the fact that the descriptive output is defective raises questions about the underlying compaction: it is somehow broken too? I hope it can be fixed soon.

Compact is being rewritten for version 128, coming out this summer. So hopefully it will be better then. If it is not, please post a new support topic.

At the time of your original posting, version 102 had several issues, of which compact was one. But there was no intentional removal of compact information or change to the compact process.
