After the second to the last update to Firefox I started experiencing an information pop up message "Could not determine any profile running in backgroundtask mode!".

Is there a fix for this?

Thank you.

@cor-el

Thank you for the reply. I changed the setting. But I am still getting that message.

I appreciate your time.

I will attempted to capture a screenshot. It did not take. As soon as it comes up again I will capture it. My first post is exactly what the pop up information message reads. The title is XUL Runner

Thank you.

Firefox uses profiles.ini to determine what profile the current profile is, this profile is marked as Default=1, so if you have more than one profile or start Firefox with the -P profile then you may have to use the Profile Manager to set one profile as the default profile.

Thank you for the information. I utilized the profile manager and removed / deleted an old profile that was not being used. The message did come back. But it seemed to have taken longer to do so.

I may just perform a refresh if all else is unsuccessful.

Thank you for your time and help.

Best, V

Thanks to all of you for your help. I performed a reset and that did not work either.

So I uninstalled Firefox completely and performed a fresh install.

So far, so good.

Best regards.
