Firefox 103.0 - 64bit; Windows 10. Since Monday, I have been unable to download anything. The download starts and after a couple of seconds reports "Failed". I have tried starting in safe mode and it still fails. I've done a refresh to no effect. I also have another machine which has the same Firefox version and a copy of the profile but still runs Windows 7. No problem with that one....

Anyone got any ideas?

Cracked it! It was nothing to do with Firefox and entirely a Windows 10 issue. My Downloads folder was created under a previous release of Windows 10 and the security settings were incompatible with the latest version, effectively meaning I didn't have permission to write to it. I guess it might have helped if Firefox had told me that, rather than just telling me the download had failed.

An update. It looks like a Firefox v103.0 & Windows 10 issue. I just did a clean install of Firefox with no changes fom the default, other than the search engine, and downloads still fail. Also tried more than one search engine, just to make sure.
