I'd like to report a potential false "malicious content" flag.

There's an application called Verve Painter, which can be used to create images by simulating the fluid dynamic properties of real paint. It's hosted on the creator's website and development forum, www.taron.de/forum . For as long as I've known about this program, there have been forum posts that discuss the fact that Verve often gets flagged as a trojan by some antivirus software. The creator, Taron, often jokes that he's been targeted by the "antivirus mafia," in response to the apparent absurdity of it all.

At some point, Firefox also began marking it as a threat. Perhaps someone got a warning from their anitvirus software and decided to report the page. Though I have neither the experience nor the resources to vouch for its absolute integrity, I can say three things: 1. The program simulates fluid dynamics, exactly as advertised. 2. There's a small community of this forum's users that believe in the program's integrity as much as I do. 3. The free version of Malwarebytes doesn't mark it as a threat.

Aside from this, given everything from the open forum to the creator's feedback to the other artsy stuff on taron's website, this site is very uncharacteristic of your typical vehicle for trojan delivery, to say the least.

I'm essentially wondering if the matter can be looked into further, hopefully resulting the malware flags being removed.

If this isn't the right place to post this sort of inquiry, I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

What form does the "malicious content" flag take for you?

Is it this feature: How does built-in Phishing and Malware Protection work? (see the links in FredMcD's post about where this data comes from)

Something else?

jscher2000: Yes, it took me to the Phishing page.

FredMcD: I found the "Request Review" page and sent it to the website owner. Now we play the waiting game.
