Recently Firefox has become infected by a nasty piece of adware/malware called Offers4U, and I would very much like to get rid of it. But all the solutions I've seen use dodgy AV software. Surely someone must know where Offers4U puts its rubbish, so that it can simply be deleted? The reason I don't want to use AV is that there isn't a single AV app that I've come across that isn't itself accused by someone of being malware. Everyone on the forums says Macs can take care of themselves, and don't need AV apps. But if that's true, there must be another way, surely?! [Mac Mini, OS 10.9.5, Firefox 44.0.2]
