I use pinned tabs and up to this point when left-clicking a link that leads away from the pinned website it would open in a new tab.

That would be according to the description of a pinned tab: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/pinned-tabs-keep-favorite-websites-open "Links to other websites open in a new tab so that your Pinned Tab doesn't change. "

This seems to be broken. What's wrong here?

(Disclaimer: I know I can do that by right-clinking or some such but I just want the original feature back that would leave my pinned tab intact)

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;

Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences

Then Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites and see if there is still a problem. Then restart.

I updated shockwave and flash player and went through all the steps to inactivate hardware acceleration. Still not working. I don't think hardware acceleration has anything to do with it anyway. It's some kind of bug in the update. Because if I click a link in a pinned tab that leads aways from the pinned url/domain it opens in the same pinned tab. When I then click a link on the new page (still the same tab) it will open in a new tab. That's just the wrong way around.

Well, until someone else can tell you something, use the middle mouse button.

I didn't know about the middle mouse button. I guess I'll have to get a mouse then :-) (used the touch pad so far).

Thanks for trying!!!!
