Out of nowhere a couple days ago Firefox started loading local html files extremely slowly. I was using Live Server to render the pages, so I turned that on and off, uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I tried dragging files in from the original folder on my computer, but even that doesn't work. I tried updating firefox, and then my computer (which is running Fedora Linux 40), but still nothing.

When I try hitting inspect on the page, it only loads the HTML but doesn't let me inspect the JS as it wont load, and it's saying I have a ton of errors too. I can't look at the errors because they wont load, but I know it doesn't have to do with the original file as there was only one error which the page was working fine with before and each time I try opening the file it gives me a different amount of errors.

I tried clearing my cache and cookies, which didn't work either.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm having no other errors on other pages.

When I try to click on certain key buttons in webpages, nothing happens. examples: "Sign in" won't sign me in. A field that lets me change number of products desired won't let me fill change the number. Only seems to be executable (CTA?) buttons. Thanks for any help.

When I logged onto Firefox this morning it asked me to update which I did. When I got onto Firefox all my tabs were gone. Please tell me if I did something to cause this and how to keep this from happening again. I do have it set up to restore tabs when logged off and starting up again. Also please tell me how to get my tabs back! I tried to follow instructions for this but actually didn't have the things they said to click on. Thanks so much for your help!!

For the last several weeks (can't give an exact date, but it's been more than just a couple weeks, less than a couple months), both my husband and I have had issues loading videos in FF. We both have the latest version of FF. I went thru "Fix common audio and video issues" and did all those things, as well as trying to load the videos in troubleshooting mode. Nothing has helped (tho now that i cleared all the cache, i'm gonna have to log back into all those websites :( ). Nothing else is problematic. Our internet connection is fine. In fact, my husband has resorted to using MS browser to watch videos--they load fine in that browser. I have no other idea what to do. Searching your database for "youtube videos load slow" only resulted in a couple hits with no resolution. Hopefully this isn't the third. thanks

If I press and hold the arrow key, the page scrolls for a few lines and then there is a delay of about a second before it actually starts scrolling. How do you remove this delay? For example, hjkl works exactly how I want it to in the vimium extension, but I'm also using home row modes, so I can't use it. I'm not talking about smooth scroll or something like that. I also tried Yet Another Smooth Scrolling WE and it's not what I was looking for. This delay also common to chromium.

When I search for a Hebrew-language video on Firefox the resulting link text overlaps with the English text “Translate this page” for all YouTube videos. I don’t want any page translated and my Firefox Translation settings include no languages. The overlap only occurs on YouTube video links. How can I get rid of the “Translate this page” text? Thanks.

Hi when saving bookmarks with the key Control+ Shift + D this saves all bookmarks but doesn't save pinned bookmarks, what keys save all bookmarks including the pins? Thanks

I can no longer use my camera on firefox, firefox displayed some message about camera when we were trying to chat, but I missed it, I have granted relevant permissions on the site, that we use reularly. The camera icon on the address bar appears red, and I noticed that in Windows security, it lists firefox access requests, but shows no way to grant these requests.

I am not tech minded so please if anyone could keep it simple, I would appreciate it.

I've recently had a full Windows reformat, and I'm setting my PC back up. I used the Firefox profile to resync my data to the new Firefox install, but I'm encountering a glitch with Youtube where I'm already signed in(Gmail, and all Google-related products work perfectly fine), but it's not capturing that data somehow.

I've attached a screenshot where, on the right you'll see my sign in was successful, but on the left where my user platform should be, it's prompting for a Sign in. Clicking on Sign in only refreshes the page, and I have limited options as to what I can do with my profile if I were to click on my profile picture at the top right corner. Additional screenshots labeled Firefox.jpeg and Chrome.jpeg that shows what I can see on Firefox(glitched) vs what I should be seeing normally (which I used Chrome for this example). As you can see it's severely limited, and none of the options allow me to sign out or change much of my Youtube profile.

Steps I've taken so far: - Reinstalled Firefox - Removed previous profile via profileOLD.ini - Disabled all Extensions - Cleared Cookies - Tried to add Cookies exemption for accounts.google.com and accounts.youtube.com, still a no go - Tested with several Google accounts, same issue - Tested with other browsers including Edge, Chrome, and Opera, I'm able to play Youtube normally.

It worked perfectly well just this morning before my reformat, but when I reinstalled Firefox, and it synced with my Firefox account, it just happened.

hi, on the top right there is a search bar. for the history i normally highlight the word and press delete, now thats not working, why is this and how can i fix this issue?

Every 10-15 days Firefox crashes on one of the machines.

The only error I have is the "No mapping between account names and security IDs was done" in the Event Viewer at the time of the crash.

Firefox and the system fully up to date. The system exhibits no other issues.

Windows 11 Pro, no domain, crashes happen on multiple accounts on that machine.

The user is not signed in at the time of the crash. They have been using the same add-ons for years, but just to rule it out, Troubleshooting mode was attempted to no avail.

AV has been completely removed temporarily to avoid any conflicts.

I have changed my default search engine, but the setting is not applied on my other devices. I have had to manually change it for each device. I have checked my Sync settings and everything is checked.

Ctrl+Shift+D does not bring up bookmark dialog [no response]. Only way to "save all tabs" now is to press alt+B, then move mouse pointer to dropdown menu and select the "save all tabs" menu item with the mouse poiter [only]. This kind of defeats the "keyboard shortcut" approach to ease of use. Previous behavior was by pressing Ctrl+Shift+D would bring up a save bookmarks dialog, and I'm done. I use a lot of "save all tabs". This is only become an issue since apparently installing Firefox v115.12.0esr version 2 days ago, which I didn't hardly remember happening. Although I am running Win8.1, but as stated this was not issue before the newer version Firefox installed. This does not appear to be a Win8.1 incompatibility issue. I have intended to upgrade to Win10, but have other more pressing events recently [accidents, hospitals, etc, etc,etc.] My keyboard tests OK. The Ctrl+Shift+D combination registers as an OK keyboard combination. [?] I've run FF with extensions disabled - same results. [?] Thanks.

Hello, I cannot log in to Twitter/x.com with the Firefox browser. There is a constant loop when registering. Firefox browser does not connect Twitter/X.com.

Everytime I load Firefox the bookmarks sidebar is not shown.

Navigating thus View => Sidebar => Bookmarks I can bring it up. It will stay visible for the whole of my browser session. However, after I've closed this session and started another. the bookmark sidebar is missing again.

How can I make the bookmarks sidr be available all the time?

FF 127.0.2 OS Windows 11 Pro v 24H2 Build(26100.994).

So my firefox crashed, I had over 50 tabs with information I want to read later when I have time, so they usually pile up. I tried to restore when I got the error when starting up firefox. It said it was successful, but there were literally no tabs available.

Is there a way to access older syncs? Since I assume my now synced state is this empty hell.

I normally have a few tabs open all the time. When I close FF with the windows x on the title bar it closes and when I click the FF logo pinned on the taskbar FF opens with my previous session tabs, this is normal way work. Then for some reason it suddenly changes so when I open FF I get a new window with no tabs. I usually can recover this with >History>Recently closed tabs. But if FF is started with a link in a document, I deal with that and when it closes I realise that it had opened a new window, when it closes there is no recently closed tabs history and I've lost them all. I think this happens because the link opened a new window and closed it automatically and now because it had no more tabs open there is no tab history to recover. But then it stays like that. Every time I open FF it opens a new blank window, I click the >Recently closed tabs and get it back. Then close the new blank window then close FF but it doesn't re-open with the previous tabs even though it's set to do so. It works OK for a while and then suddenly starts this aberration. I've tried getting help on this before and was advised to close FF >3Bars>Exit but that closes all open sessions rather than just the one I want to close. This problem has been on going for a long time and is extremely annoying when all the tabs are lost. I even suggested that there could be a session stack maybe 10 or 20 so we could open that and recover any of the stack sessions we wanted. I'm sorry to say that FF is not the reliable browser it once was.

Version 127.0.2 for linux. Opening a direct link to a pdf file gives the error --- Downloading [file].pdf.part (header) [...].pdf.part could not be saved, because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to a different location. --- The file name is 144 characters long including spaces. I don't have any technical browser experience so I'll put what I know. These are the headers HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: nginx Date: Fri, 28 Jun 2024 03:52:54 GMT Content-Type: application/octet-stream Content-Length: 4841076 Connection: keep-alive ETag: "65a096a5-49de74" Accept-Ranges: bytes Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="[144 char long filename].pdf" Everything seems okay. When I click on the link instead of opening as Save As, which I think it should, it immediately gives me that error. I have the ask me where to save thing checked. My home directory is ecryptfs. Ecryptfs says it has a max file name of 143 characters. Mine stops working after 140 characters or 144 including ".pdf". Anyways I think the file name breaks my file system. I was trying to download two pdfs. This is another one I tried to download earlier that gave me the error. I don't pirate. I was able to download it with wget while choosing a shorter filename. I don't know why it wouldn't let me choose after clicking the link. Additionally clicking save link as allows me to choose a file name and continue normally. I have a few more problems I'd like to put in this ticket. A. After giving me the error Firefox crashed immediately afterwards. This was a few days ago. Firefox has never crashed like that before in months. I don't remember exactly what happened but it did crash. If crash logs are needed I can find it. B. After attempting to downloading a video (mp4) file this happened. The mp4 file didn't show up anywhere but a -1 byte part file showed up. It took the name of a subfolder in the folder I had intended to download the image file. I'll explain it in further detail below. I attempted to download an image in /home/user/Documents. In the Documents folder I had another folder which I'll call example. So /Documents/example. I did save the video in Documents but I don't think that mattered. After closing the save as box that popped up after clicking save video I noticed the weird file show up in the Downloads tab. It showed up in the "example" folder and took the name "example".part. Remember I never chose the "example" folder but I did choose the Documents folder. All my files inside the "example" folder broke and I couldn't delete the weird part file. Clicking properties showed the permissions could not be determined. When I interacted with it (I think I tried deleting it) it gave me an error with "gvfsd-admin daemon". I don't remember what it said exactly. I applied my folder's permissions to its contents and I was able to delete it. It doesn't show up in my downloads manager now. I ran clamav and everything was fine. Note I downloaded the video from a trusted source, twimg or the twitter video host. C. Finally when downloading a pdf link that worked, I didn't get the file app box that allows you to save as. I stated above that I have the ask me where to save thing turned on. I don't know if that was a feature or what. Here's the link.
