I am using what I am guessing is a new version of sync because I am only using my email and a password to sign in in FF 29 on OS 10.9. That process sounds similar to before, but there is nowhere to enter a device code for other devices now. What am I missing here? It just acts like I would sign into another device and it would be done, similar to Chrome. I originally stopped using FF because my tabs would never sync properly across the 2 devices, but would like to come back to FF.

You're using the test version of the new Firefox Sync. The actual release comes out on April 29th.

You're right. The new Sync won't require any device codes - just a simple sign on. You can find out more about the upcoming Sync here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-set-up-firefox-sync?
