Today's update threw out my calendar. I first downloaded it again and tried to reinstall, but no go, since the install box also does not appear in the add-ons tab. Then downloaded Thunderbird anew, in the hopes the supposedly installed calendar would appear. That did not happen either. Please help, since I need my calendar. Lots of appointments in there that are almost impossible to recreate elsewhere.

If you downloaded Lightning you do not need an "install box." You go to the add on tab, select Extensions and click the icon that looks like a gear. Select Install from File.

The easiest way to do add-ons is to go the the add-on tab. Select Extensions Type Lightning in the search box and install.
