Why every time i run thunderbird and if i leave it open too often it bring me the error message for all hotmail/outlook mail accounts i have???

What the heck is happening and how i can solve this?

Can't send or receive email since Telstra changed authentication. After an hour on the phone with Telstra they claims settings are correct as I can access through webmail, but not through Thunderbird.

In privacy and settings, Saved password ,Under saved logins nothing appears, ( I did "remove all" as instructed by Telstra but we can't figure our how to add it back.)

Can anyone instruct me how to fix this? Many thanks I appreciate your assistance

Im trying to put my email (prkirby@sky.com) on to thunderbird (version 115.12.1 64Bit) running on a windows 11 computer I have 2 other emails which run perfectly All my settings are correct, pop 3 incoming pop.tools.sky.com port 995 outgoing smpt.tools.sky.com port 465 both my username and password are correct, all these settings work when using outlook 2013 pro plus on a computer running windows 7 username and password also work when signing in to emails on different computers When I create the account the message I get is password/usename incorrect Any help will be gratefully received Phil

Is Mozilla working on the below email I have received from Microsoft? "The safety and security of your information is top priority for Microsoft. To help keep your account secure, Microsoft will no longer support the use of third-party email and calendar apps which ask you to sign in with only your Microsoft Account username and password. To keep you safe you will need to use a mail or calendar app which supports Microsoft’s modern authentication methods. If you do not act, your third-party email apps will no longer be able to access your Outlook.com, Hotmail or Live.com email address on September 16th.


What do you need to do?

If you are receiving this email, you are currently using an email or calendar app that uses a less secure authentication method to connect to your Outlook.com email account. You will need to upgrade your third-party mail and calendar app to a version which supports modern authentication methods.

Microsoft provides free versions of Outlook for your PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices which can be easily downloaded and connect to your email account. Using an updated version of an Outlook application will ensure you are connecting in the most secure way.

How can you set up your Gmail, Apple Mail, or other third-party mail application?

Various non-Microsoft applications will have their own steps for connecting to your Outlook.com email account using modern authentication methods. Version 115.13.0 Not counting unread messages correctly

Just updated to 115.13.0. I had three unread messages and this showed correctly in my task bar icon. I click on one of the messages to read it and the counter showed no nread messages.

This continues to happen. It shows 10 unread messages but as soon as I read one of them the number of unread disappears in the taskbar icon. I am missing some of my emails because of this since I never know if there are new messages.

How can I fix this?

I've discovered that network errors cause filters to be disabled and the target rule deleted. This has caused me to have to go edit dozens of rules to get filters working again.

I have seen this with two scenarios: 1. Expired certificate on my mail server 2. Flaky (as in really flaky) WiFi in the hotel I am currently staying in

Both of these are a big problem. Network errors should not cause problems with filter definitions and deleting the targets is a really bad idea. I'm okay with having to rerun the filters, but not having to spend minutes to hours repairing the filter rules.

Dear All,

I have a a sender that his email address is from same email domain with mine. Initially was able to receive messages from his side without any issues. Last week I observed that all messages received from this sender move to spam folder. I have already marked sender as not junk, add sender address to my personal address book and supposedly Thunderbird will not mark message as junk if is in your personal address book, I have also reset Junk training data. However although sender emails marked as not junk and moved to inbox after short time return to spam folder. Is it something that I am missing? FYI I have already search for a solution but nothing worked. Thanks in advance.

Hello, My important saved search folders which I use almost exclusively to interact with my email have very frustratingly disappeared after changing my hotmail.com server settings from imap-mail.outlook.com to outlook.office365.com due to Microsoft new security requirements for third party apps. Yestterday I discovered I no longer have an archives folder in one of my accounts, It's the one I've saved subfolders of receipt emails and others I need. I've checked my web mail and they are still showing there. My other account on Thunderbird still has all folders. I've checked the settings and they are the same in both. When I go to 'subscribe' by right click there's no archive folder listed there. Checking the server settings local directory it only has the inbox as the pic I'll post. How can I get my archive folder and subfolders back? Please understand I'm 69 and not real well, and although I do a lot of simple tech stuff I'm not really up with this sort of thing! Hope someone can help please. 🙏

I got an email from Microsoft saying my Live.com or Outlook.com email accounts won't be supported in Thunderbird UNLESS I change the settings to OAuth2 in incoming and outgoing server settings.

I even REMOVED the email account and re-added it making sure it was OAuth2.

But for my live.com & outlook.com email accounts I continually get prompts for passwords from Thunderbird. Sometimes I can't even click the RED X at the upper right to shut the prompt down. I just happens over and over until I give it what it wants.

I am tempted to shut down all Microsoft email accounts and switch to Gmail.

I have Thunderbird version 115.12.2 (64-bit) I used Windows 11 23H2 build 22631.3810 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1020.0

Any idea how to stop these prompts?

I like Thunderbird much more than any other email program I have ever used, and would like to keep it

in box and sent show '3609' and '2201' but no messages appear in either screen, and no new in box emails are coming from aol

I changed setting for 'unsent message' from 'alert me' to 'no'. Suddenly 'in' for ljboland@verizon.net show no read nor unread 'in box' and the Sent messages do not appear as tho there are none but on top ' 2201 messages' is shown.
