The usual approach is to sync both to an online resource "in the cloud". Since your Samsung is an Android device, you probably are already using Google Contacts.

The gContactSync addon lets you synchronise the Google Contacts address book in Thunderbird.

I have looked, in vain, for an app that would let you synchronise via a direct connection between Windows and Android.

Thank you. I have tried using the gContactsync however the new contacts I've added in Thunderbird address book and gmail is not updating in the contacts in the Samsung S6.

Log on to your Google Contacts via web browser. You'll need to designate contacts added via Thunderbird as 'Contacts' there. It's pretty silly that an additional step is needed, but that's a Google thing. If you need further help, you should ask in a Google forum.

Hi I have a slightly different issue. I want to synchronize some contacts (not all) . Is there way to pick a contact and copy and paste it to the gmail address book or sync 1 contact at a time to my gmail contacts. i do not want everything in Thunderbird address book ?
