Some web pages simply don't behave as expected. An example is this one, that should let you find a Tyvek specialist: <http://www2.dupont.com/Tyvek_Weatheriza>.

The country is filled out correctly, but when I fill in the ZIP code and hit Search, nothing happens except that the ZIP code box is again empty. Other sites, e.g. Verizon, have the same sort of problem. In each case, opening the page using Safari enabled it to work as expected. What's the problem? Is there a setting I need to change. In all cases I made sure that AdBlock allowed all the links for the page in question.

In fact, on this very page of Mozilla support for Firefox, the links below 'try these manual steps' and 'Show details' simply duplicate the page, but without anything in the Details box where I'm typing this information. Are the problems related?

I'm using Firefox 24.0 (earlier versions behaved the same way) under Snow Lion X.6.8 on a Mac Pro.

Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion, jscher2000. That did the trick. Before, I had 'Allowed' sites temporarily just enough to get the ZIP code box, and thought that was sufficient. Evidently not. I'll keep this in mind next time.

Can you rule out the NoScript extension as a cause of the issues on those sites? Even if you allow the main site to run scripts, often a website will spread its content over additional servers, so you may need to visit the "S" button menu a second or third time to get full functionality. (Over time, you'll recognize some the servers as being for ads, tracking, or sharing buttons and you can just let those parts of the page not work.)
