when i was using firforx 3 on windows xp , I used to organize and backup my favourites, now i am using firefox 4 on windows 7 and i can't find a way to import my already backed up sites

"Organize Bookmarks" is now called "Show All Bookmarks" in FF4. You'll find the Import/Export option there.
