Hello Firefox users and community. I posted this question to share my solution for my particular problem. My Firefox was painfully slow (as described above. I did the troubleshooting myself and discovered the culprit was the IBM security Rapport. When I disabled the extension, Firefox was working fabulously once more. I have not yet determined if it was a new release of Rapport or what exactly changed that Firefox became so very slow. One day it was running fine, and the next it was unusable and I had not made any changes to add-ons or extensions or anything else on the PC. So, it is my hope that this may help someone else.
