I have had my Firefox account for a couple of years and have no issue syncing it when I needed to. Now I did a whole system over haul and I wanted to get my synced account on a dual-booted Windows 7 and Ubuntu machine. When I put in my credentials, it just sits there with "working" at the top. I left this one for an hour and still was stuck at working. Even my laptop that dual boots Windows 10 and Fedora has my Firefox account sync but now says needs to reconnect on the Windows 10. Same thing happens when I put in my credentials. It sits at working. I remember being able to sync my accounts and it took less then a minute. I have reinstalled the web browser and same results. I also changed my password to see if maybe I was getting my password wrong. I do see that while I let my account sit for an hour that it made alot of error files. I have it post here. Please let me know what I can do to get this resolved.

hi Kipz, sorry for the late reply. unfortunately this is currently a known issue in firefox 50 when you have set the browser to run in permanent private browsing mode ("never remember history" in the options > privacy panel). firefox developers are working to get this fixed in upcoming versions again...
