I can't download nor can I see adds on YT videos when in Fifefox, why??

About 5 days ago I updated my firefox because I rec. a notice of new updates. Since that time I can no longer download videos from keepvid, java doesn't seem to work well, and the adds have disappeared from Youtube when watching videos. I had this same problem about 5 months ago and to resolve it I disabled all the new plugins and that worked. This time I can't seem to find a fix no matter what I try.

To avoid confusion:

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
