How do I change the preference on my Samsung Captivate to install non-Andriod Store apps?

I was able to download the Firefox Mobile install program, but when I tried to install it on my AT&T Samsung Captivate, the operating system blocked the installation, because it was not an app from the Android store. The message was "Your phone is set to block Installs that are not from the Android store." So, my guess is that there must be a setting somewhere I can set to remove the block, but I can't find it.
