The latest version of Firefox is a piece of shit. It is totally screwed up, and has totally fucked up my OS on my main desk top (It switched everything in Windows 7 over to Cantonese Chinese and it took me several hours to find someone who spoke Chinese to set it back. And no, it is no virus, etc, on my computer. Your browser update totally fucked up my system. You people owe me a new computer and Microsoft will back me up on this claim. How do I roll Firefox back to the last edition? If there is no way, I will never use Firefox again and go on a campaign to tell people to dump firefox.

Download and install 56 from here: https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/56.0.2/win64/en-US/

If this solved your problem, mark as solution.

Once you change your preferences, and restart Firefox, you are given 5.7 again.

Install Older Version Of Firefox {web link} Be sure to read everything here.

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

Hi FredMcD,

I uninstalled Firefox 57 Quantum and installed Firefox Version 56.0.2 (64-bit)

In 56.0.2, After type about:preferences#advanced<enter> in the address bar, I do not see this "Under Advanced, Select Update. "

The only Update related option I see is this and I set to "Allow Firefox to Never check for updates (not recommended)" screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/QrHL4Sn.png

Is there any other settings I need to set to prevent auto updates?

Thanks
