Was sucesssful signing up and using firefox on desktop yesterday. Today user name and or password not accepted. Can't get emails-nothing. Asked for help with password and never got email. This was 3 hrs ago and not in spam folder

Password for what? Signing up for what?

Firefox doesn't need a password for a person to be able to use it. Firefox shouldn't affect your ability to get email - Firefox doesn't do email, but it will allow you to access your web-mail service.
