Sync is built into the Firefox 4+ versions and can't be removed. Just don't use the Set Up Sync... feature and it won't be enabled.

If you mean, how to turn off Sync once it has been set up, use the "Deactivate this device" link in the Firefox -> Options -> Sync panel. You can also delete our sync account, if you wish - see How do I choose what information to sync on Firefox?

Thank you. I resolved the problem by uninstalling Firefox6 and replacing it with Nightly9.
