Now Private Browsing is NOT available on my Tools Menu--only Stop Private Browsing appears and it's grayed-out=NOT available; so why is that so=Why isn't Private Browsing available = can't I use it any longer?

You are in permanent private browsing mode. To stop Firefox opening in permanent private browsing mode do this:

  1. Open the Options window and go to the Privacy panel
  2. Change the setting "Firefox will" to "Remember history", alternatively if you set it to "Use custom settings for history", de-select the setting "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
