when I go on the net the orange firefox box shown in the demos in the upper left corner of screen is not there to click on. When a page loads the screen doesn't have the tabs showing. When I move the cursor to the top of the screen, the tabs then appear but the firefox box doesn't. I'm sure this is something simple but I need help

Chosen solution

You can turn the Menu Bar on/Firefox Button off in Firefox 4. You have the Menu Bar on.

To toggle the Menu Bar on/off (Firefox Button off/on), do one of the following to check/un-check (on/off) Menu Bar:

  • HOLD the ALT key while pressing the letters VTM on your keyboard
  • Using the Menu Bar: click View > Toolbars, click Menu Bar
  • Using the Firefox Button: click Firefox Button > Options, click Menu Bar

Sounds like you are in Full Screen Mode. Tap the F11 key one time to toggle Full Screen Mode on/off. See:

Hit the f11 and still no orange firefox box in upper left. I'm on a desktop computer. The upper part of screen now shoes:

file edit view history bookmarks tools help
       Tab
back and forward arrows web address

Thank you to you both. This did the trick. I'm going to be back tomorrow with a question about a printing problem I'm having. Once again thanks.
