Something is broken in this last release of FF. I tried safe mode, no help. My website if http://richardratner.com . I use the mixpod player. It works fine in IE, but some called to say it no longer works in FF, and I tried it and it's true. I really don't want to go through the entire website to change players. Please help.

Hello.

It works for me on my end (very pretty music, by the way). It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check, and you should leave Shockwave Flash enabled), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in safe mode (don't forget to select Disable all add-ons when you start safe mode). Of course that will also disable Flash, so it's not good in your case. Please do it manually. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See this article for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and this one for plugins.

If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.

If the problem does not disappear when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there. Please have no fear of following my instructions to the line, as all can be easily undone.

And again, I can hear the music perfectly on my end, so you don't need to be afraid that your visitors won't be able to hear it. Of course, relying on a proprietary plugin like Flash to play music is never really a good thing, but I understand it may be a necessary evil, in your case. Again, this seems to be a problem on your end specifically, so let's work together to fix it.

Hi, thanks for your reply, and for your kind words re my music. As I mentioned, I tried it in safe mode, no help. I presume safe mode disables all add-ons. This was brought to my attention by someone else, so I know it's not just me. I discovered a problem with FF a few days ago - the Yahoo crossword no longer works. Both the crossword and mixpod used to work fine, and work fine in IE, but who wants to use IE? Attached is a picture of what one of the pages looks like. I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling and see what happens.

Tried with new profile, that solves it.
