Composing mail colors won't display

When I try to compose an email ("write"), I cannot change the color of the text. I can italicize it but when I change the color, it still displays as black. If I copy and paste the text into Word, the different colors show up so they are being changed but I don't see them.

Sounds like you have something set up to override your visual settings. See image below as guide.

Menu app icon > Options Select 'General Scroll to 'Language & Appearance' section click on 'Colours' button

uncheck 'Use system colours'

'Override the colours specified by the content woth my selections above' - select 'Never'. click on OK.
