Emails from my various email accounts (yahoo, gmail, etc.) are pulled into Thunderbird (I have Thunderbird 60.6.1 (64-bit). For one account messages are not pulled in (while it used to work) and I now get the message : "The IMAP server outlook.office.365.com does not support the selected authentication". I'm not sure what the problem is and what to do about it. I would appreciate any help.

Chosen solution

The authentication should be normal password, and the connection security SSL/TLS. If you have 2-step verification on the account, the 'normal password' should be an app password.

Is it a typo? The IMAP server is outlook.office365.com; no period after office.

You're right, it was a typo, but that is not the problem. I am not typing the name of the server. When I click on Get Messages at the top left corner of Thunderbird, I get the emails of my other email accounts and I get the message "The IMAP server outlook.office365.com does not support the selected authentication"for this particular account; that is the message that comes back to me without me typing the name of the server.

I checked the authentication method and switched it to Normal Password and it resolved the issue. Thanks you.
